Joy Littlejohn was born and raised in Rome, Ga. Joy was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in college. She was married to Carlton “Buddy” Littlejohn for nearly 60 years until he passed in 2011. She and her husband enjoyed travel and went on cruises to the Bahamas, Panama Canal, Alaska, Italy, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands.

In the 1970s, she and her husband owned a fabric store called Rome Fabrics. She loved to sew and made many of her daughters’ clothes when they were growing up. Joy also enjoyed reading, cross stitch, and various crafts throughout the years. Joy worked at Synovus Bank (formerly Citizens Federal or Citizens First) for many years and gained many friends. Her last job there was as an auditor. She enjoyed line dancing with the Dixie Stompers in her free time as well.

Joy has four children: Mike (married to Teresa), Terri, Cindy (Jim), and Todd (Andrea). She has fi ve grandchildren: Jami (Scot), B.J. (Brittany), Tyler, Mason (Arizla), and Brittany (Charlie). She has four great- grandchildren: Anslee, Nicholas, Elizabeth, and Jack. She also has three brothers Jack Jones (Jean), Buddy Jones (Trena), and Danny Jones (Bobye).
