Ms. Barbara Bevis was born on November 22, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida. Ms. Bevis was a high school athlete and her team won the state championship in 1949. She went on to play for the University of Florida, graduating in 1953. She married Bill Bevis in 1952 who was in the Marines and later was employed with Georgia Kraft in Greensboro, GA. They moved to Rome in 1961 where she taught the first grade at Pepperall Elementary for 25 years. We are blessed to have Ms. Bevis at Riverwood. We love her dearly!
